"VOLCANO ERUPTION RELIEF FUNDRAISING"
Indonesian Abroad In Reach (IAIR) and Indonesian Community in Chicago cordially invite you to attend a good cause event to help the victims of Mt. Sinabung (North Sumatra) and Mt. Kelud (East Java) volcano eruption.

The event is scheduled to be held at :
WISMA KJRI Chicago
614 Pine Lane - Winnetka
Sunday March 2nd, 2014
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Activities include :
1. Energizing Zumba Fitness lead by Endah Frey & Tati Rude
2. Free Blood Pressure check
3. Food bazaar featuring traditional dishes from affected region (Sumatra and Java Island)
4. Raffle drawing and Live Auction
5. Entertainment (songs and music from Sumatra and Java Island).

Please reserve your spot for the "Zumba fitness", suggested donation for participant is $10.00, which includes : an hour of FUN Zumba Exercise, Free Blood Pressure check, water bottle, fresh fruit, snack, 1 raffle ticket.

Food bazaar will follow the zumba event with pre-order main course available in limited quantity. Below are the list :

3. Nasi Kikil - $12/box
4. Mie Ayam Jamur (large portion) - $10/box
5. Sate Padang (Lontong, Sate lidah/daging, sambal ijo) - $10/box
6. Bakso Special Pak Oyo - $10/container
7. Empek empek Palembang Kapal Selam, Panjang, Bulat @$5 each item

February 15, 2014 may be your last chance to see and hear the full set of beautiful bronze instruments of the Javanese court gamelan orchestra that for nearly fifty years has entertained and exposed students, faculty and the Ann Arbor community to one of the world’s great music and dance traditions.

In March 2014, the gamelan will be removed from its dedicated space, and the majority of its instruments placed in storage ..............

Indonesian Cultural Center (ICC) - Chicago is offering 
Free Indonesian Language Class (ILC) for public in Chicagoland area. 

For the first term (February-May, 2014), the ILC will be divided into two classes: Indonesian language for beginners and Indonesian language for kids. 
Classes will be held at the ICC, 711 W. Grand Avenue, 1st Fl. Chicago, IL 60654.

ILC Students are expected to attend the first class at the ICC on Saturday, February 8, 2014, 12.30 PM – 02.00 PM. For further information, please see the flyer. 

From 2 - 4 PM: Dance class, continuing the basic movements of Javanese Dance. Instructors: Pak Tri Kumara and Mbak Realiska Hayati 

From 4 - 6 PM: Javanese gamelan class, instructor: Ibu Dyah Kasir.

Note: The classes will be held every week on Saturday except when there is other event(s) outside the Indonesian Cultural Center or cancellation due to the weather etc. Please check the event update(s).
