"Indonesia SummerFun 2009"
Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11AM-4PM
Lake Park (Opeka Lake), Des Plaines, IL. On Lee St. between Touhy and Howard. ISFun 2009 is in Picnic Shelter.

Activities:
BBQ, Raffles, Beach Volleyball, Amateur Golf (extra fee), Kids Playground, Fun Games, Music.

Admission Fee:

• $10 (in advance, by June 15, 2009), $12 (at-the-door), $5 (under 12-years old), Free (under 5-years old)
• Your admission ticket guarantees ONE (1) SERVING of each menu item during the food serving period (11am - 2pm). Extra foods, snacks, and refreshments will be provided during this time (while supplies last). Unclaimed dishes will be distributed to our guests at 2pm. So, plan to get there early!
• All proceeds will benefit PWKI's Peduli Bangsa (Care for Indonesia) Charity Program.

Nasi Pecel, Kolak Biji Salak, Sate Ayam, Hotdogs+Chips, Sodas+Beverages, Snowcones.

Berikut kami informasikan Bazaar & Panggung Gembira Sosialisasi Pemilu Tahun 2009 akan diselenggarakan pada:

Acara : TASTE OF NUSANTARA
Hari : Sabtu, 13 Juni 2009
Pukul : 11.00 - 15.00
Tempat : Wisma KEPPRI, 614 Pine Lane, Winnetka, IL 60093
Pakaian: Diharapkan Batik.

Pada acara ini PPLN tidak mengampanyekan parpol-parpol tertentu atau calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden tertentu, melainkan menampilkan poster bergambarkan para calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden. Diharapkan hal tersebut memberi wacana edukatif konstruktif dan informasi bagi masyarakat pemilih pada pelaksanaan Pemilihan Umum Presiden pada tanggal 8 Juli 2009.

BAZAAR - VENDOR MASAKAN
Maksimum 10 vendor makanan akan menyajikan aneka santapan lezat masakan khas Nusantara. Pendaftaran Vendor Masakan sampai 6 Juni 2009 dengan menghubungi melalui email: Ibu Patricia Pamungkasih dengan Cc: ke Ibu Yanti Buana . Tiap vendor tidak dikenakan pungutan.

BAZAAR - VENDOR KERAJINAN SENI
Maksimum 5 vendor kerajinan seni akan menggelar aneka kerajinan seni, batik, dan souvenir khas Indonesia. Pendaftaran Vendor Kerajinan Seni sampai 6 Juni 2009 dengan menghubungi melalui email: Bp. Agus Buana . Tiap vendor tidak dikenakan pungutan.

PANGGUNG GEMBIRA
Pendaftaran Panggung Gembira sampai 6 Juni 2009 dengan melalui e-mail ke: Bp. Nyoman Mahartayasa . Pementasan dapat berupa band / musik traditional / tarian.

FREE KUPON MASAKAN MENU UTAMA
* Kupon masakan menu utama dalam jumlah terbatas akan didistribusikan melalui: KJRI, PERMIAS, berbagai organisasi masyarakat dan tokoh masyarakat (Nama nama penghubung / Contact person di CCBC, GBI, GOLF, IFGF, Pengajian, PMKI, PWKI dll akan segera menyusul). Batas akhir pendistribusian kupon sampai tanggal 6 Juni 2009.
** Kupon harap dibawa pada saat acara untuk ditukar dengan satu (1) masakan menu utama di salah satu vendor: Taste of Jogya, Taste of Manado, Taste of Padang, ATAU Taste of Sunda sesuai dengan pilihan selera kesukaan anda. Jam makan siang Pk 12:00 sampai Pk 2:00 siang; kupon tersebut berlaku selama masakan menu utama masih tersedia.

About the Exhibition:

The Indonesian Consulate General in Chicago in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC and Maya Soetoro Ng's Family are proud to present The Private Batik Collection of Ms. Ann Dunham.

Batik was very special to Ms. Ann Dunham and her interest in this Indonesian traditional textile began during her stay in Yogyakarta, where it is known as a center of classical Javanese fine art and culture such as batik, ballet, drama, music, poetry, and puppet shows. Ms. Ann Dunham believes that Batik embodies the essence of the culture and tradition of the place that the batik came from, that is Indonesia.

The word Batik is originally an Indonesian-Malay word and means to dot. This art of textile is spread in the Hindu and Malay world, but Indonesia is certainly the heart of the Batik. This way of painting and coloring textile has reached its higher degree of excellence in the Islands of Java, in cities like Solo, Yogyakarta, Pekalongan or Cirebon. From Java this "batik" cloth was exported to other islands of the archipelago and to the Malay peninsula. Ms. Ann Dunham's collection of batik was mostly of from Yogyakarta and Solo, the two centers of cultures and arts in the Island of Java.

In honoring her passion for Indonesian culture and art, the Embassy of Indonesia in Washington DC and the Maya Soetoro's Ng's Family in cooperation with the Indonesian Consulate General in Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, San Fransisco and New York will exhibit the collection in some cities across the United States throughout the months of May to August 2009.

• From downtown Chicago westbound.
  Take I-90/94 westbound;
  Follow I-90 westbound after I-90/94 splitted. Right after toll-booth (you will see AllState Arena on the right hand side), exit on Lee Street. Slightly turn right, follow Lee St; and you will see "Lake Park" (Lake Opeka is in this area). Lake Opeka is in the corner of Lee Street and Touhy Ave; ISFun is in the Picnic Shelter/Gazebo.
  
• From Wisconsin area Eastbound.
  Take I-90 eastbound to Chicago.
  Exit on Arlington Heights Rd. northbound. On E. Algonquin Rd. turn right, follow E. Algonquin Rd (Route 62); Turn right on Lee St southbound; and you will see "Lake Park" (Lake Opeka is in this area between Howard and Touhy Ave). Lake Opeka is in the corner of Lee Street and Touhy Ave; ISFun is in the Picnic Shelter/Gazebo.
